Billboards could be allowed to flash in Salt Lake City after all — just not as often as the industry prefers and not near residential neighborhoods. Mayor Ralph Becker is proposing a compromise on electronic billboards. They would be OK in manufacturing zones and along large commercial corridors. A Davis County man has been sentenced to prison for a Walmart robbery that led to four employees being fired for disarming him. Trent Allen Longton, 25, was sentenced Monday in 2nd District Court to one to 15 years in prison for the January robbery.
